I am an empath, HSP and intuitive energy reader. Through my sensitivity I read energy and experience feelings which can mimic your experience, and I receive intuitive information when I connect with you. I work with a heart centred approach. I have been doing soul readings professionally for nearly 20 years but have had a lifelong interest in holistic well-being and intuitive experiences. I am also a Complementary Holistic Therapist and Reiki Master Teacher, so you may be interested in my other site www.emmasims.co.uk if you live in the North Wales area.
My journey in life has taken me through a near death experience; depression; suicidal ideation, dental, social and agoraphobia; anxiety, fits and fainting; kundalini imbalances; childhood trauma; IBS; chemical, noise & light sensitivities; severe medication reactions; M.E., the death of 5 family members within 6 months, fibromyalgia; eating issues…and in the middle of it all spiritual awakenings. All these experiences have taught me something and make me who I am and how I do my job, I’ve turned my life around.
Beginnings
Having always been sensitive to energies and atmosphere and picking up on things; being told that I had an overactive imagination and not knowing what was going on; I felt like I was born into the wrong family and on the wrong planet! The stress of continual childhood trauma, as can often happen, precipitated my awakening. I noticed shifts in my energy around the age of 16 when I became depressed but also writing spontaneous poetry as if taking dictation, doodling eyes and stars of David! It was also the time of the Harmonic Convergence and the start of a clearing process and personal development.
Near Death

before the dawn
M.E. and depression in my early twenties and a severe reaction to seroxat medication led to hospitalisation on a number of occasions due to repeated suicide attempts. The pain and suffering was intense, I was no longer able to work. During one suicide attempt, when I’d been asking was there really a God, I had a near death experience. I found myself surrounded in bright white light and an experience of peace and stillness, nothing like I’d ever experienced or felt before. It was out of this world. I didn’t realise this was a near death experience until years later, but did feel strongly that I wasn’t meant to die (I felt like I was even failing at that!), that maybe there was a reason why I was here and I was to stay.
I was struggling through life and on disability. 20 years ago now, a medium, Sue Winter, suggested that my unrecognised psychic abilities could be contributing to my mental health problems. This is sometimes known as shamanic sickness. She taught me to meditate and how to read cards, explaining about psychic development. I experimented doing readings online, tested out my inner scepticism and decided there had to be something going on as well as wondering why meditation wasn’t available on the NHS! Within a few years mindfulness was introduced. I read about HSP’s (Elaine Aaron) and empaths (Rose Rosetree) and finally realised who I was. You can read a bit more about me and my health story on my other site here

Daily life was a struggle and my goal of getting back to work took some years, but eventually came about by fostering cats, then volunteering and then working for a national cat charity. Animals have always been a huge part of my life and over the years they have been my fur babies – most of them rescued in some way or others: cats, dogs, chickens, guinea pigs, rabbits, a horse on loan. I think many empaths and sensitives connect and learn from animals. What a blessing they are! Nature also teaches me and I get out daily to connect, ground and earth. Being by the sea, in woodlands or walking in the hills inspire me, soothe and recharge me greatly.
Being encouraged to learn to listen to my intuition also really helped me and why I’m so passionate about helping people to develop that. I believe that then becomes our Inner Tuition, our inner guide which leads us back to our true self, our soul. I began to find my True Self, I began to read Spiritual books and realised as I read that this was who I was, a Spiritual being. It’s what I’d been doing for many years, without realising it, and there was a name for it! Good advice was given, take what you need and dismiss the rest, so as I navigate my path I find my own truths.
Training
My development was primarily focused on meditation, personal development, consciousness and psychic development. During meditation I felt a strong urge to try channelling energy for others and that was my introduction to spiritual healing. I tried with friends, received good feedback from sceptical friends and then via the internet learnt to connect remotely with others. It was great training to validate that there is something greater going on and that we are all connected. Self-employment then followed 16 years ago, doing readings and spiritual healing, then training to become a Reiki Practitioner and then teaching that, plus psychic development and holistic courses over the years. I’m passionate about helping people to develop their potential and well-being.

we find true freedom
A big influence on my development has been the phrase ‘healer heal thyself’ and this is where I come from in personal and intuitive development To become clear channels we need to work the layers of our own issues. For that reason I am particularly fond of shadow work. I’m also very passionate about self-care and promote that to others. My first draft of my book ‘Self-Care for the Giving & Helping Professions’ is well under way and I hope that this will be published soon.
Due to the nature of my work, I also completed Counselling training to certificate level in both Integrative Counselling and Gestalt Counselling to ground it. I am particularly keen on creating safe spaces for people to grow. Although it isn’t a requirement (I believe it should be when working with others) I have regular supervision myself as a therapist. Please note here that your information is confidential and I will not pass on your information to anyone else (if I mention your treatments in supervision, it will not be by name). The exception to this is if you inform me that you are a threat to yourself or another. In this case I will endeavour to talk to you about that. If I feel that I cannot help you or that you are vulnerable, I will refer you on to other therapists or your GP.
I have worked as a Holistic Therapist, workshop facilitator and reader, from my business unit at a local community resource centre (Gwersyllt Resource Centre) for the last 10 years. My directive from above was ‘to work in the heart of the community’, so what better place.
How I work

I receive information on a number of levels. Firstly, the clairsentient level (clear feeling), I scan to see what comes up as I connect with your energy which reflects on mine (mirroring). Other information comes through such as words, which is clairaudience. I receive information on a claircognizant (clear knowing) and clairvoyant (clear seeing) level too so will feedback to you about that. I may also receive information via clairaroma (smell). I look at the colours in your aura and what they may be showing me.

My beliefs: when we work with clients it can be helpful for them to know whether we are on the same page spiritually. I believe in a God, the Divine as a universal energy that is in everyone and everything, non-judgmental, loving, kind compassionate. I believe judgements are man-made and hell can be on earth! Sometimes, I go to church, but did lose a lot of faith in ‘organised religion’ when I was younger. primarily have a direct relationship with God, as well Angels (particularly Michael, Gabriel, Azrael, Metatron), Ascended Masters and saints (Therese and Joan), my Spirit Guides (an Indian Yogi, a medicine man and a Spiritual Light being) as well as Usui. The primary spiritual and psychological influences, which speak to me and inspire me, are Buddhism and shamanism – not that I am either.
